Terms and Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 10, 2026. These terms apply to the Cisean Tech website.
This page is intended to provide clear operating terms and privacy information for users in Ireland and the EU. It does not remove or limit any mandatory consumer rights you have under applicable law.
1. General Website Terms
Cisean Tech is a price comparison and shopping support service. We collect and display product and pricing information from third-party retailers. Product details, prices, stock, delivery options, and retailer terms can change at any time.
By using this website, you agree to use it lawfully and in good faith. You must not interfere with site security, attempt unauthorized access, scrape data in breach of applicable law, or misuse user accounts.
We may update website features, categories, matching logic, and ranking methods over time to improve quality and relevance.
2. Price and Product Information Accuracy
We take reasonable steps to keep prices and product data current, but we cannot guarantee that all listings are complete, current, or error-free at all times.
The final offer, legal contract, and payment terms for products purchased from a retailer are determined by that retailer unless you are using a Cisean Buy checkout flow operated by us.
If a pricing or data error is identified, we may correct, remove, or update listings without notice.
4. Irish and EU Consumer Rights
Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory rights under Irish or EU consumer law, including rights relating to conformity of goods, remedies for faulty goods, and applicable distance-selling protections.
Where a product or transaction falls within statutory withdrawal rules, those rights apply subject to legal exceptions (for example, certain sealed, personalized, or perishable goods, where relevant).
5. Privacy Policy
We process personal data for account access, order operations, fraud prevention, communications, analytics, and legal compliance. The legal basis depends on context and may include contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligations, and your consent where required.
Categories of personal data may include contact details, account identifiers, order information, address data, technical metadata, and support correspondence.
We only retain personal data for as long as necessary for business operations, legal obligations, dispute handling, accounting, and security needs.
Where service providers process data on our behalf (for example, payment or email services), they are engaged under appropriate contractual and security controls.
5.1 What Personal Data We Collect
Depending on your use of the service, we may collect account profile data (for example email and login identifiers), order and transaction records, shipping and billing addresses, support communications, and technical/device data used for security and service operation.
We may also generate internal operational data such as fraud/risk signals, service logs, and event history related to account activity and order lifecycle steps.
5.2 How We Use Your Data
We use personal data to provide and maintain the website, authenticate users, process Cisean Buy orders, communicate order updates, operate customer support, prevent abuse, improve product matching quality, and meet legal or regulatory obligations.
We do not sell personal data as a standalone data product. Where analytics or service providers are used, data is processed for service operation, measurement, and improvement purposes.
5.3 Legal Bases Under GDPR
We rely on one or more of the following legal bases as applicable: performance of a contract (for account and order services), compliance with legal obligations (for records and fraud controls), legitimate interests (for security and service reliability), and consent where required by law.
Where consent is the basis (for example, certain optional cookie/analytics settings), you can withdraw consent at any time with effect for future processing.
5.4 Data Sharing and Processors
We may share relevant personal data with trusted processors and service partners involved in core operations, such as authentication tools, payment processors, email delivery services, hosting providers, and partner fulfillment workflows where needed to complete an order.
Each processor receives only data reasonably required for its function and is expected to operate under contractual data protection obligations.
5.5 International Data Transfers
Some providers may process data outside the EEA. Where this occurs, we aim to use recognized transfer safeguards (such as appropriate contractual clauses) and reasonable supplementary controls in line with applicable law.
5.6 Data Retention
Retention periods vary by data type and legal need. Account and order records may be retained for customer support, legal compliance, accounting, anti-fraud, and dispute resolution for the period reasonably required by law or legitimate operational necessity.
When retention is no longer required, we aim to delete or anonymize data in line with reasonable technical and operational constraints.
5.7 Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, environment security practices, and provider-level safeguards. No online system can be guaranteed fully risk-free, but we continuously work to reduce risk.
5.8 Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection in relation to your personal data. We may need to verify identity before actioning sensitive requests.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle a data issue, you may raise a complaint with your relevant supervisory authority, including the Irish Data Protection Commission where applicable.
7. Data Protection Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability of your personal data.
You can contact us via support channels to request account or data assistance. We may need to verify identity before completing sensitive requests.
8. Acceptable Use and Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity under your account.
You must not use Cisean Tech for unlawful activity, policy evasion, testing stolen payment instruments, credential abuse, or any action that could harm users, retailers, or platform operations.
9. Intellectual Property
Website design, text, branding, and platform functionality are protected by intellectual property laws. Retailer trademarks, product names, and images remain the property of their respective owners.
You may not reproduce or redistribute protected platform content beyond normal personal use without permission.
10. Liability and Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Cisean Tech is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses resulting from third-party retailer actions, listing inaccuracies, service interruptions, or external infrastructure failures.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability where exclusion is not legally permitted, including liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, or mandatory consumer protections.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms and policies to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
12. Governing Law and Complaints
These terms are governed by Irish law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that may apply in your place of residence within the EU.
If you have a complaint, contact us first so we can attempt to resolve it quickly. If unresolved, you may use any dispute resolution options available to you under applicable law.
